every page, so far, is like honey. i want to linger over the sentences and savor ever word! this is my first james baldwin book… i can already feel this is going to break my heart, 21 pages in

so close to giving up with just 36 pages left. since i loved p & p, i’m surprised i didn’t enjoy s & s, and now persuasion. maybe i’m not in the right headspace or mood, or maybe everything i read after p & p by austen will just feel redundant and boring?

on a jane austen marathon, i suppose. starting this immediately after sense & sensibility, which may or may not be a bad idea.
