Damn, just realised August of this year will hit 10 years of me being on Goodreads. To reflect on how much that teenager has changed and how those books have impacted certain periods of my life. I am beyond grateful to my bookish heart. 10 years. Gee. How is this time real?

Ahhh finally. Bought this for my 21st birthday!
Picked it up, leading up to my quarter of a century one instead.
I think I'm finally in the mental space to add some fantasy and fictional value into my life, despite how hectic my life has been.
I deserve it! Usually, I don't allow myself to have any breaks throughout my work, but I am changing that because I miss reading endlessly (this will take me months, I bet)

Even men in the most trying of circumstances - like those lost at sea or confined in prison - will find the means to carefully account the passing of a year... Why do they go to such lengths to mark time? When, ostensibly, to do so should matter to them least of all?... It provides an occasion to reflect on the inevitable progress of the world they've left behind.

I have exams the day after tomorrow and following that is my intense practicum hours. I really have been neglectful of my reading, but this schedule I would not wish on anyone. With bouts of sleep when I can. I don't even have the chance to sneak a few pages bedtime. Postgrad life, work and being on call 24/7 will be worth it - but right now I have nil social life and downtime is a privilage rarely seen these days.

Slow reading month, I feel so ashamed

Furthering my studies has really put a halt on any and all of my readings. I fear I won't have the chance to complete anything anytime soon.
