So, are we going to see the war? We are more than halfway through and they are still on their way, and that’s most of what they talk about so I thought there would be more time dedicated to the war itself.

Ah yes, chivalry equals fighting other men to the death, because that’s honorable.

I haven’t see the plot twists coming, except for one.

Hmmm. I feel I’ve read many things like this before and I am bored.

It is old, that is for sure.

After having listened to all the Sherlock Holmes, I can confirm that this novel is definitely written by the same author.

Henry DeWitt was the smartest man of them all, not just because he bailed at a port before the whale attacked the boat this saving himself from the horrors that followed, but also because he knew he was being exploited by his crappy job and did something about it.

Oh boy, more Doyle. He is really not my favorite author.

The first death the audience experiences first-hand, not through a character telling a story, is when the plot gets going.

Beetee is really out here spilling all of his secrets to a teen he just met. I guess he’s a quick and accurate judge of character, but this could have gone badly with anyone else.

The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger is another example of a Sherlock story in which there is no mystery solved and rather someone telling Holmes their odd story.

I love how her friends keep her accountable.

The poem starting with “I cannot live with You” is full of longing and the mention of the subject serving Heaven allows me to see why some hypothesize Dickinson might have been in love with a priest.

Oh please, like Xaden becoming a professor is going to stop these two. 🙄

Look, I love Violet’s spunk usually, but maybe she should listen to the ancient dragon who has been in many battles when he tells her to keep her seatbelt on so he doesn’t have to focus on yelling at her and can do his job. I feel like he’s been right about the need of keeping in her seat in most of the scenarios.

Feels a little jarring to be thrown right back into the thick of it.

I want to visit this island. I’d tear up too.

Oh… oh no.

I would definitely not be around by this point in the plot for one reason for another; I’d be very much dead and likely eaten.

The last book I read had a Jasper in it and this one has a Josie. All my pets are getting mentioned!

The Adventure of the Retired Colourman was easily guess by my dad.
Spoiler: don’t try to cover up blood or gas smell with paint, especially green. That’s so obvious!

Jasper is a spaniel! He is so cute and has my whole heart.

The narrator’s dog who follows her everywhere being named Jasper is really nice while I have my beautiful, giant Manx cat named Jasper following me everywhere.

A character using the term “endgame” distresses me.

I appreciate that the plot gets moving. Also, I would have died so quickly in this universe as one of the super-side characters who falls off their dragon or something routine like that. Don’t put me in a war setting, I won’t be able to hear you. 🤷🏼‍♀️
