plumcrazybooks is on page 511 of 751 of John Adams
This is a couple read aloud for Alan and I. Next week we're taking a trip to Philadelphia and I can't wait to see the things we read about.

Also, this reads very similarly to what's going on in the now. So many of the issues that John Adams fought about with the press, Congress and even with the Alien Acts and the Sedition Acts.

plumcrazybooks is reading Sycamore Row (Jake Brigance, #2)
I would give it a 3.5 if I could. The only reason it's not a 4 is simply because if the enormous list of characters. I used alot of brain power trying to keep all of the characters straight. Too many characters in my opinion. That being said, I did enjoy the book.

plumcrazybooks is on page 96 of 480 of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
I'm using Quizlet.com to learn some of the vocabulary he used, but I'm really enjoying this book. I certainly like it more than Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Roughing It is still my favorite Twain book. Maybe this book will give it a run for it's money. ;)

plumcrazybooks is finished with Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously
I read through the first 100 pages, decided I liked the movie more and put it down. I don't know why I didn't care for it. It just rubbed me the wrong way. Was it because it wasn't like the movie? Maybe. This is why you should always read the book first.

plumcrazybooks is 30% done with William Randolph Hearst, American
This has been a read-aloud for Alan and I before bedtime. We're curious now to a non-biased book about the man. Did he really do all of the good deeds they mentioned? I don't question their journalistic integrity but I'd love to see what someone else said.

This has been an interesting and hilarious book so far. The authors-Fremont Older (editor of the San Francisco Call-Bulletin 1918-1935and a first cousin of mine) and his wife (author of numerous other books) have turned Mr. Hearst into a figure that is a combination of an ancient God and Superman. Fremont worker for Hearst so they all knew each other quite well.
