Man, I can empathize with those with Rist's condition but I think the defense was taken too far. Yes, he'll have civil suits til the cows come home but this was a carefully researched, planned and staged crime. Jail time should have been included. Then again, I haven't read the whole book yet ...

I am VERY fortunate ... very, VERY fortunate ... that no woman I have ever been approached by that I felt attractive enough to respond to was ever in The Business. I was absolutely clueless enough to miss that for some time.

I was wrong with my first assessment of the threat. It's not sinister. It is soulless and unforgiving.

So far a very unique Star Wars experience. Granted I haven't read too many of the expanded universe but there is an element of sinister danger I have not seen in a Star Wars novel before.

I am absolutely engaged. It's a fascinating character study and world.

So far it's kicking my ass! So good!
