Pretty good. Written in first person, but the narrative feels too… written. I don’t feel a character speaking to me as much as an author writing a character speaking to me.

Things like Dresden have set a high bar for good first person writing.

Decent story so far though.

This book is such a slog. I’ve been trying to finish it for three years 🤣

I didn’t realize this was part of a series when I started it. Luckily, I had read the first one. Unluckily, the same issue I had with the first one persists through this.

It’s a fantastic couple of books. But OSC has no idea how teenagers talk. They reference shows from the 50-60s. Use slang almost as old. Talk in deep and complete sentences in the midst of extreme and quick danger.

Desperately needs help.
