I can’t believe I didn’t realize this was non-fiction

Look, I have no idea why a book about the pharmaceutical industry musing on 9/11 should work as well as it does for someone who doesn't know drugs, was born after 9/11, and is deeply European, but here I am. A brilliant read full of poetic truth and witticisms.

God, grant me the tenacity to finish this book because clearly I cannot muster it myself 🙏🏻

"Een collectie om u tegen te zeggen" for want of a better way to phrase it. Angelou's poetry is raw, vivid and easy to follow. Her words teach more about the (generational) trauma of African-American people than any history book could. Very moving. 4,5/5.

Somewhat tedious… I might be too European to appreciate this one

Halfway through the book and just now finding out this is part 2??? How was I to know this? The titles are IDENTICAL. I simply thought I was choosing a golden cover over a blue one when I saw them lying side by side in the bookshop :,)
