Just got to the part dealing with the Blitz in London, which inspired some other reading.

The first chapter is horrible. Not reading this.

I got about a page and a half into this and gave it up.

Not finishing this, as annoying.

Started reading this to the girls over Yom Tov. We're reading The Secret Garden on the Kindle app, so couldn't continue that, but I got a copy of this for the 8yo for her latest birthday, always intending to read it to her the first time. She insisted on trying alone first, though, and got completely put off by the unfamiliar language and setting, so I've had to wait to get started. She's loving it now, though!

Very well woven story so far.

We've lost the youngest listener, so he keeps interrupting, which is slowing us down right when the pace of the book should be causing a clamour to push through to the end.

Very good book

Very annoying protagonist.

Not grabbing me

The 8yo has seen a school production so thinks she knows the whole thing, but the 6yo is enthralled.

Not perfect but fun.
