Worth reading for the first two parts. Could have ended the book there and you wouldn’t lose anything.

I appreciate Hahn’s work, but I the timing of when I read this book made it fall a little flat. I’ve read many of his later works which work through similar themes and sometimes what is a chapter in this book becomes an entire book later on.

But I would recommend this book who has never read through the Bible as covenant. Hahn puts the story arc in an accessible form for everybody.

If you are looking for an in-depth look into the meaning of the Church’s symbols then this book will disappoint. Rather, this book contains about 2-4 page explanation of the development of meanings behind the images, words, gestures, places, etc that occur in our Liturgy. It’s a better quick reference guide, something I’ll use to refresh before teaching a topic in RCIA.
