I'm having some very emotionally straining relationship with "Shadows of the Past". Reading the book feels like taking cover at a wooden hut surrounded by trees, broken branches are being hurled at the hut by strong gust of wind every 10 minutes. You'd feel trapped and frustrated because there's no light, no food, no water and no way out...when is it coming to an end?!!! HELP!!!

Fantastic and heart-pounding. I enjoyed the thrill and how realistic the plot and characters are.

I've been resisting finishing this book in one sitting so I set it aside for a few days...

Just finished chapter 3 and it enlightened me on the warring period in Germany. I did enjoy the chapter on Hanseatic age, though.

Ending Part Two with Beer and Sausages is great! Made me realize how vastly diverse each region of Germany is.

Devouring the glimpses of German history throughout the centuries.

"Perhaps the main reason that young adults are wary of marriage is their perception that most couples are unhappy in their marriages.

I'm on the final part of the first book: The Priest. The dicussion on pp. 135-151 is helping me understand the basis behind the story.
