I read a snippet of this somewhere and immediately put it on my To Read list… then I was excited to get a Goodreads Giveaway copy! I’ve already absorbed about a quartet of it in the first day, because I couldn’t put it down.

Meh. I chose this because of the popularity of the "Two Scoops of Django" book for more advanced work, and I need the review. But I really wish more people -- anyone, really! -- made tutorials for people that don't need hand-holding. At least I can read through it really, really fast.

I've been engrossed in this book whenever I've had few minutes to read it. But soon I may need to return it to the library unfinished—can't renew it because there's a long waitlist of others who want to read it!

A bit more "thriller" than I was expecting, with frequent twists followed by a change in speaker for the next X pages so you don't find out what happened to the previous speaker for a while. A tired and annoying tactic to keep people reading, sigh.

Really enjoying this book so far! At the start of each short story it can be a bit confusing, makes me think of Alice's question to Humpty: "The question is whether you can make words mean so many different things." Then by the end of the story I'm so into in it, and the endings are so satisfying. Such tight, evocative writing.

Slow reading since I constantly have to stop to underline, take notes, and think. But so useful!

Loving it! One small problem: My brain keeps wanting to sing, "Go-o on, go-o on | C'mon, leave me Deathless..." (The Corrs' "Breathless").

Highlight so far (introductory chapters) has been this quote from a simile about job scheduling: "Idle lawyers tend to become politicians, so there is a certain social value in keeping lawyers busy."

This book is written by the professor of my current GATech class, so of course it's the required text for the class as well...
