An incredible book! Beyond the Symbolism, the density of the insight into characters and the weight of the prose.

Aphorisms to start but there is a story here. And then there is Gospodinov's insights which are laser sharp

will I ever finish this? The gist of a great novel trying to wade thru a sea of shit posing as cyberpunk and hep cat detective stuff. Even worse than the low life that is Pynchon

Kevin Tole is on page 200 of 464 of The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory
The incompatibility of general relativity and quantum mechanics which would be apparent only on the sub-Planck length distances is avoided in a universe that has a lower limit on the distances that can be accessed or even said to exist in a conventional sense.

Gramsci, Lucasz , Korsch. A philosophical treatise - it's goodness, rightness, tenetsd - means nothing unless it is understandable in plain language.

right interesting through Leninism and Stalinism. Kolokowski nailed his colours firmly to the mast.

Essentially a long term project. Sometimes it takes me half an hour to read half a page, and all of it is pure dead interesting (in no way a satirical comment) so much so that you want to write down for future reference what this feller Kolakowski has to say about the history of philosophical thought.

Essentially a book of art bollix written for art bollixers. Having left it on the rig I will need to take it on again when I get back. Some of the text IS illuminating but far less so than the work itself - which is well documented by the book - and some of it is ALL art bollix-for-non-practitioners i.e. ART FUCKING HISTORIANS / non-practising artists

Particularly enjoying this and learning more about people I knew little of - Max Stirner, William Godwin, Nietzsche, de Sade, Paine. A very well written book.

I'm beginning to feel this guy is a myth in himself. All the interviews and the content of the book makes one feel that he is so into punning, satire and jokes that he could be one big joke and not exist at all as Guillermo C.I. but is a creation of someone else by a different name in a different place. Meta-fictions within meta-fictions. The "Latun-American Ulysses" bit is just over-played - nowhere near Joyce yet.

Unbelievably trite. Either very badly written or very badly translated. Reads like a 16yo gone wild after watching the Matrix for the 51st time. This is the worst book I have ever read by a Russian writer. Sub-Pratchett in its sub sci-fi nature. The Bro first part is about as dull and mundane a page flicker as you will ever come across. If I could give this 0 stars I would. utter garbage.
