in the silliest way, this copy by new york review books has the smoothest paper i’ve ever felt (so thank you publisher), it is actually amazing . anyways, after reading too much joan didion, i feel forced to read eve babitz. for better or worse, people tend to group them together. so far this book has its parallels to slouching towards bethlehem, but seems more drawed back

yes i’ve updated this a lot today, and yes it is because i did not remember a bookmark. I really enjoy these essays so far, as it reminds me of what i enjoy of didion and essays. These stories show a culture and understanding so different from where i grew up. The true depth to music subcultures is amazing

So far, the first part of the book is uncharacteristic of its legacy. But, I know the second part is allegedly focused on the basis for the environmentalism movement associated with Leopold
