This back for of timelines and characters within them is hard on someone with ADD, but so very loving all the garden talk and restoration plans.

Reminds me of the 1990 movie “Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael” … so far

It’s bringing to mind a senior Randle Patrick McMurphy, as Joel Monroe is stuck in a nursing home, plotting his escape. Only the escape is suicide.

This quite the fun read. Love the dialogue and the kick-ass characters

This is actually quite the good read! C. S. Strike, Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Wizard of Oz.. the best of all magical realms in one.

VP makes a fight appearance. Oh, the innuendos are so delicious in this book! Eric Dunn, indeed! Ha!

This just doesn’t let up.

Once you get past the introduction of characters snippets, it immediately jumps into a thumping madness of bombs exploding and the chaos ensues. Who, why, and will there be more?

One pitfall to such books is that my TBR piles always get added to by about a dozen more titles. Page 27, one added.

This is a bookclub read which got shelved due to the pandemic, same as our bookclub. So have not read further than the first couple chapters so far.

Need this LOL book to get me into 2022

This book is just so self-justifying for me. I’ve bookmarked so many books to read (an reread) from it, quotes to use, and people to further research. It’s truly written into my soul.

Keep getting distracted by quicker reads. This is involving, making me think, take notes. Quite educational and I’ve barely made a dent in it. But it’s good that it is that kind of book where you can stop anywhere and pick up again any time, tho it is telling a story, it’s not a novel.

Only 10 pages in and I feel like I'm one of her best friends, her writing is just that accessible. No pretenses, visions of false grandeur, just life... simple, hard, fun, sad, life.

So much to take in and try to remember. Fun to read about people I have actually met. Wish I had been just a bit older so I could have been active in this vital era of American history.

This is so interesting. Kate Warne, America's first detective (1856) and a telling of her many jobs (including saving President Lincoln) as well as several of the women who followed her lead. Bravo!

You know the feeling of not wanting to open a door, knowing there is heartbreak, cruelty and injustice behind it? That's how I feel about this book. So hard to read another page for the sadness, anger, disgust I am going to feel.

Jun Do reminds me a lot of Werner Pfennig in All The Light We Cannot See.

So scary what the government can do.

I had just finished reading The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck, that dealt with the horrors of Hitler's genocide & subsequent tragedies allowed beyond those of his direct attribution, so this is not an easy follow-up. That said, after a certain point, I had to set it aside to finish later...after, at least, several humorous novels. I will say it is very well written & full of fierce characters and action.
