This is actually quite good. I'm a bit surprised someone hasn't tried to make a go of it as a series or a movie.

I made it to Chapter 14 listening to one audiobook version, but the way the voice actor portrayed Lala Varde was sooooo obnoxious I wasn't sure I'd be able to finish. Luckily, my library had the other audiobook addition and I switched in the hope of getting to the end.

Much better.

Um, Anthony...MY kids asked for jam. But NO American (full stop) would talk about whole meal bread. It's wheat. White or wheat.

Can I last through the rest to find out what is going on? Hopefully. Because I want to know. But it is dragging a bit.

Two glaring errors so far and they are niggling at me: 1.) a fracture in a 3 year old that is still detectable in the same child at 10-12?; and 2). woman in a church which forbids foods with caffeine and yet she drinks Darjeeling?

JUST started and its good, I swear! But I'm having a hard time with the serious tone of the book and the fact that the priest is named Father Ted.....UK comedy lovers will know what I mean.

So, SyFy's carrying The Almighty Johnson's and yet cancelled The Dresden Files. What, oh WHAT, is wrong with these people?

Tried to read this twice. Just couldn't make it all the way through.

Was worried that I'd not like this series any more. I'd stopped reading amateur sleuths many many years ago, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not annoyingly nosy parker or soppily halmark. A bit on the lighter side of fiction, but sometimes one needs to read this kind of story.
