This dialogue is so unrealistic. Real people do not talk like this. Has this author ever met a five year old before?

Terminally slow moving

King can't write a believable modern teen character to save his life, and I wish he'd stop trying.

I'd like to tell this author to go f*** himself.

So far, it seems like the premise of the book is a privileged white girl acts poorly, sleeps with a married man, befriends a sick boy for volunteer credit. Oh, and let's sprinkle in the most basic game references so it appears we know about gaming and computers!

I'm finding this very dull so far. Head anyone else read this yet? Does it get better?
