Thanking God, Jesus, and the holy spirit that I've finished my ARC TBR pile and can finally get back to the good stuff

I have fallen victim to one of the classic blunders (judging a book by its cover) and am sad to report that the writing inside is not of the same quality

Do I remember why I put this on my TBR? No. Am I enjoying it? Not really. Am I extremely annoyed by how often the word summer is being used? Ohhhh my, yes. But I am intrigued enough to continue!

This started off with nice normal British thriller trappings but it just keeps getting weirder and weirder! I'm thrilled!

I spent so long wishing for all of the characters to converge and now that they have there are just too many characters and I miss getting page time with all my crushes. A couple of paragraphs of Karsa and naught but passing mentions of Anomander Rake. This book is thus far bereft of hot men.

I'm obsessed with this. Homegirl is basically doing The Sims rags to riches challenge after she got isekai-ed into her favorite grimdark fantasy world. Oh, and she can't die!

This is so bleak I believe it is actively harming my wellbeing!
I will finish though

Now back to the good stuff!!!! I got a little clammy when I saw this is 1200 pages BUT Karsa Orlong is here so we will be okay

DNF at 20% , should have done it sooner. I liked First Lie Wins but I haven't cared about a single second of this.

I am so mad that this is new characters in a new place and also in the past BUT at least I have my new BFF Bugg

Back on my audiobook bullshit now that I'm caught up on Critical Role! I'm enjoying the writing here so far (I think) but having this read by the author was a poor choice. Fiction narration is a skill! Not everyone has that skill, even if they are a talented actor!
