Steve is in jail for a crime he didn't commit. He has to go to court to try and prove his innocence while everybody else thinks he did it. A social issue in this book is death because Steve is in jail for homicide.

June is positive that she found day and is talking on the com links to Thomas to tell him that she found him. June goes into a skiz fight and fights Kaede she gets stabbed and day throws a smoke bomb when she tries to leave but the crowd won't let her. Day and Tess rescue her and bandage her up.

june is hiding in the streets of the lake sector trying to get word of day or his whereabouts. day is having flashbacks to when he first met Tess as a young orphan alone in the streets. Thomas is torturing a spy from the colonies that has information that the republic can use.

June goes to an alley to meet up with day and trick him into showing himself. Day goes to a bar to ask if anybody knows where to meet June for the plague cures, or if she even has them.

Day wakes up in a strangers house next to Tess, day is injured pretty badly. Metias is killed by day, June went to Metias's funeral. she meets with one of Metias's officers and has an awkward conversation because the guy is kinda creepy

In the book Zero Fade Kevin went to the mall with his sister, they ate at the food court and got a chicken sandwich with waffle fries, I can connect to this because In America when i would go to a food court and get a chicken sandwich and waffle fries to.

In the book Zero Fade Kevin said he woke one morning smelling the bacon cooking in the kitchen and how he loves that smell. I can connect to that in my life because we rarely ever have bacon for breakfast at my house and I love the smell of it to.

Kevin is going to watch the mask with his older sister because Aisha and Kevin cannot go with him.
