With two of the four novellas down, this collection seems a mixed bag. I liked The American Aunt, a story of the shifting relationship between America and Italy before, during & after the liberation from fascism, told delightfully through the eyes of children with a colourful cast of characters. The Death of Stalin, less so, as the narrator seems somewhat a caricature there primarily to serve a political point.
