Greg is finished with The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul (Dirk Gently, #2)
This was a fun but surreal romp featuring English detective, Norse gods living among us and genuinely witty prose. If you liked Hitchhiker's Guide to the Gallaxy, you will also love this book.

Loved this book for the educational value on Alzheimer's. Good pace and lots of insights I need now that my mom is well into her path of dementia. I also enjoyed the authors' perspective on a marriage and love between partners when one is losing their mental capacity.

Loved Faulkner's prose in this strange and evil story filled with fascinating low/life characters and mysterious stories. The preface noted that this is not listed as the favorite of all critics but was for him. I can list it as one of the more strange stories.

This was at first a little self-consciously artsy for me but after I got past that, I truly enjoyed it. It's a well told story of the early years of Patty Smith's career and that of her lover and long-time friend, the photographer Robert Maplethorpe. Patty tells the story with a generous heart toward others, and with moments of beautiful prose.
