Great Book! This book fully explains America's political situation and what needs to be done to change it. The Ruling Class has hijacked the agenda and has run away in a far-flung direction.

Shelby Foote brings the battles into focus and we understand the significance of each twist and turn of the Union's battle to bring the South to submission. This second book is a page turning event even as daunting as a nearly thousand page book can be.

This is a new and well researched take on an old story. Fischer is approaching this with a great look at the other side. Learning more about the Hessians and the British who had to fight their own citizenry of which many were still sympathetic to the Americans not of their cause but as people.

Great reference book which is necessary for travelling the great North.

A very good survey of American history. I have finished the first volume which ends around 1877.
