I hate to leave a book unfinished, especially one that I’ve not even made it a fifth of the way through, but I can’t continue with this one. I don’t whether it’s the old timey vocabulary, or the references to people in power over a century ago, but I’m really not enjoying it and can’t fathom how it’s still so popular in this day and age.

I can't decide whether to continue reading or to give up now. This book is making me feel really uncomfortable; not in that edge of your seat, nail biting way, but in a REALLY bad way. The thought of someone praying on people who, like myself, suffer from depression, horrifies me and although I know this to be a work of fiction, it's so convincing that it's chilling me to the bone...

I'm really not liking the style of writing. I think it's supposed to come over all fast paced, edge of your seat exciting, but it just feels rushed. I'm only a third of the way through and is put money on it that already know what the "big twist" is going to be....

I’m really struggling with this. The author flits from one memory to the next and back again, all within the same paragraph. The lack of punctuation and grammar is also adding to my increasing dislike of this memoir.

I'm giving up on this one - too American for me. I have no idea about what half the things are that the author refers to and am spending more time trying to find out than actually reading the book!

Is it me, or does Nick Spalding come off as a bit homophobic? He constantly refers to two of the contestants as "the two lesbians" when he refers to all the others by their names and has uses the term poof several times so far. I though I liked Nick's books in the past, but I'm really struggling with this one because of the homophobic undertones....

No matter how many times I pick this up again, I just can't seem to get into it. I'll hopefully come back to it again

I'm really not enjoying this very much so far. It's trying too hard to be funny and I'm finding it quite pretentious.

This book is really hitting a nerve and at the moment, I can't tell if it's because I'm enjoying it, or because it's like reliving what it was like watching my Gran's downward spiral into dementia.

I'm really enjoying how this is moving between the eras and giving a little bit of the story away each time, but I'm just over half way through and confident I know how it ends. I'm hoping I'm wrong, or I'll be quite disappointed.

I've had to leave this one for now. Although a very short book it's hard to read. It grabbed me at first but now, sadly, I'm finding it tedious.
