I finished this book thanks to a long car ride and the fact that it is my book club pick for the month. I never grew to like Isabella’s character and found her whiny, self-centered, selfish, dishonest. Perhaps the author did not intend this, but with so many important causes during this time period, and Isabella’s vast wealth and time to spend, there were many things she could have done.

Wasn’t crazy about the jumping back and forth through centuries, and then the last 150 pages were in chronological order. But at 800 pages, props to the author. Took over a month to finish.
