I really hate that Hamori has tried to make this book hip and accessible to the reader. The juvenile tone is distracting and cringey.
Just write a good academic book, I promise it will be interesting enough for us to keep reading.

I love a good, nerdy social history. This was a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed this series. Obviously some years are better than others. I don't remember the highlights or low lights of this years.

Brutal. But riveting. Beautiful writing on a harrowing subject.

I have never loathed any character as much as I loathe the narrator of "P's Parties." Insufferable boor!!!

I am really not feeling this book. Everyone LOVES it but although it is beautifully written in passages, the structure is an indulgent mess. Don't know if I will finish it. Would have made a lovely collection of short stories.
