Why does this lady keep describing lattes and various drinks in detail it’s driving me crazy

Guys this is good but I can’t get over how he just randomly admitted that he would cheat on his wife if he knew he could get away with it and then…just…never put that statement into context or developed it further??? Maybe a deeper self-reflection is coming but I’m not sure.

I was so compelled by the philosophy/fantasy combo during the first 1/3 of this book but honestly it’s just getting exhausting now. Either the author should’ve edited the elements and amount of characters or maybe it’ll tie together in some way that’s worth it in the end.

I’m deeply disturbed by how frequently Kai feels the need to remind us that Pae is going to the death of him, he would rather die than live without her, etc etc etc. Like Pae will trip over a twig and he’s all like “SHE WILL BE MY DEMISE. I WOULD RATHER DIE LOVING HER THAN LIVE IN THIS MISERABLE WORLD WITHOUT HER.” Calm down, dude.

I’m only 50 pages in and there seems to be a love triangle brewing between a “big breasted Latina” and a “perfectly skinny light-skinned korean woman.” This is why men shouldn’t be allowed to write romance😐

Okay so the Jackal is supposedly a traitorous, heartless sociopath and yet he DIDNT kill the reaper immediately but instead decided to torture him for NINE MONTHS despite the fact that the resistance is still active? Actually I don’t even care I’m just excited to see what’s up. Can’t kill the reaper, bitchhhh!
