SHADE DIED. I did not expect that. Why would the author kill one of most beloved characters??? I mean sure it adds drama but I loved Shade. He was an amazing character. I think that Farley should have died in his place.

So Peter just wasted a very good friend and a nice pet! Also, at the beginning of the book Peter's grandpa say's that peter is like his father and "The apple does not fall far from the tree." But in the end we find out "Sometimes the apple rolls very far from the tree." (Pg.277)

Spoiler Alters. Why. Why did it have to end like that. I personally like happy endings. But why did it have to end like this, "Peter dug into his pocket and pulled out the toy. He lifted it. Pax raised his head, his eyes trained on Peter's hand. And Peter hurled the plastic soldier over the bush and into the woods, as far away as he could." I mean why did Peter do that? He spent all his time looking for Pax.
