DNF not my type of SciFi

Slow. Too many other things going on ROOT. Will finish eventually...

I was 80% thru the audiobook, but decided to reread the eBook. I’m surprised that he’s misrepresented the statistics of AVAD so badly. When I’m reading the story line of the Shawn and Sana I feel like I’m reading a Dan Brown religious thriller instead of Robin Cook medical thriller and I think he has distorted the factual basis for what he has to say that it’s now pure fiction... I’m a pathologist

Not my type

Very slow, reminds me somewhat of Vidal’s 1876, just not about bashing Lincoln...Whitman, Barton, Chase, and other less illustrious figures...waiting for the 2nd Inaugural...

Not making the impact on me it seems to have made on others. I do not have any significant interest in the controversy on whether an individual who has not lived the story that’s being written about has the right to contribute. Literature has many facets and many redeeming values...

New bios overcome the prejudice of Chas Sumner and Henry Adams both mortal enemies of Grant bent on destroying his reputation. Grant was regarded as #3 of top US presidents through the gilded age and started to suffer attacks on his reputation after TR and WW...

Very thoughtful. Reading for SS class so not scheduled to finish until March 5th...Spends most of its effort trying to establish context, so far less insight into why Eckhardt was considered a mystic...
