I would tell Jon Snow to not trust anybody. Like his brother and father, Jon uses his power to do good. No matter what he always makes the right decision. The author uses again and again to show that doing the right thing and being honorable will lead to your death. It happened with Jon's father Ned, and he was beheaded. It happened with his brother Robb and he was slaughtered at a wedding.

Frodo and Sam are getting really close to Mordor. The author used foreshadowing earlier in the book to hint at whats happening now with Gollum. Earlier in the book, he kept sneaking off and Sam kept yelling at him to stop sneaking around. Gollum claimed he had to be sneaky to scout out the path they were going to take. Gollum lead Frodo and Sam into a trap, attacking Sam and letting a giant spider attack Frodo.

I'm glad I'm reading the Lord of the Rings because since I watched the movies, I've wanted to read the books and now I finally am. I'm also glad because I like to see the differences between the books and the movies.

The author got me interested by starting the series in a peaceful setting. It allowed me to get to know the characters and then when the plot started I cared more about what was happening because I liked the characters. This book is the second in the series so now the author just has to try to keep me interested. J.R.R. Tolkien does that by having lots of action and switching point of views.

The lord of the rings is trying to teach the world that new technology isn't always a good thing. Like the ring, new technology can help you get what you want but at a price. Many people think that J.R.R Tolkien got the idea of the ring from watching the town he grew up in change. He liked his town the way it was, not too many houses, lots of fields and woods. But, then factories were built and they ruined it.

I don't like the character Wormtongue in The Lord of The Rings. He works for the villain Saruman by whispering in the king's ear, but that's not why I don't like him. I don't like Wormtongue because nobody knows he is evil even though its so obvious. Everything about him is sketchy and the king still takes his advice. Just by hearing his name you know he is a villain. To me this makes his character really boring.

I would give Gimli a bigger ax. Gimli always talks about how he loves to chop the heads off orcs. His love of killing orcs connects to the concept of making bad things positive. This concept is shown several times in the books. When Gimli and Legolas have a competition to see how many orcs they can kill at Helm's deep is one. Another is when Aragorn meets Merry and Pippin and they are smoking right after a battle.

Right now in Lord of The Rings, Aragorn is facing his first challenge. Him and his companions have cured the king of Rohan of Saruman's curse and are rallying his men. The mood right now in the story is happy and it seems like everything from here on out is going to be good. But it is setting up for Aragorn's challenge which is defending Helm's deep from Saruman's army.

Marry and Pippin try to convince the Ents to help fight against the evil of Mordor. The Ents call a council and decide to fight. I think the Ents made this decision because they were aware of all the trees Mordor was cutting down and new they had to stop it.

"You felt sorry for her, you felt sorry for her?" This quote demonstrates the idea of Power in the book. Tom Robinson is put on trial for something he didn't do, and he can't do much to defend himself because the people have already made up their minds. They made it so he has no power by putting him up against people who had prejudices against him. Also, he can't say anything bad about the person who accused him.

Dany is getting ready to marry Hizdahr. Daario comes back with news that Ben Plumm betrayed her. Dany thinks that Ben Plumm was the third person in the prophecy who betrayed her for love. Daario says," I will never betray you my love." Which I think foreshadows that Daario will betray her at some point.

"Once you have mastered your gifts, you may look where you will and see what the trees have seen." I think Bran will use these gifts to go back in time and find out who Jon Snow's mother is and other secrets. I think he will go way back in time to see if the heroes that he reads about were real.

"Better. Your stench is quite apalling,"
"Yes m'lord. I beg your pardon, m'lord"
"Why? The way you smell is my son's doing not your own. I am well aware of that."
I think this quote shows that Roose Bolton is not as cruel as his son. Which, in Game of Thrones, means he's probably going to die.

"A queen belongs not to her self but to her people." Daenarys is going to marry Hizdahr Zo Loraq to keep the peace in her city. I think this is a bad decision because she doesn't need to keep the peace in Meereen. When she goes back to Westeros, a Meerenese husband won't help her with anything.

"Clydas thrust the parchment forward. It was tightly rolled and sealed, with a button of hard pink wax. Only the Dreadfort uses pink sealing wax."
This quote is important to the story because the Lord of the Dreadfort is one of the people who betrayed and killed Jon's brother.
