I wasn’t sure how I much I was going to enjoy this at first - I don’t tend to gravitate toward maritime novels. The only one I remember reading is The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle (which was required of me - I did not read it by choice). However, after a few chapters, I find I am quite enjoying this story! It’s definitely holding my interest so far…

An excellent study of one of the wisdom books!

I love the descriptions, but I’m having a hard time believing that a seven-year-old girl could survive mostly alone on the marsh for that long - largely on grits and Crisco.

I can see where this story is going. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it. I do like Angela's story, though. And Christian's story.
