I’m 15% in and I can’t count the number of times misogynistic, demeaning shit has been said about women. I guess I’m just not the target audience for the humor. Other than that, plot’s pretty good. Unsure if I’ll be continuing tho since, as a woman, it’s pretty tiring to read every male in the book talk about a woman’s worth while “on her back” or that she’s a whore. Like….. ew, really? -__-

I wanted a horror novel and I got a horror novel. Wtf am I reading! This is freaking me out, man.

I don’t update my progress often but YALL !!!!!! This book is so EFFING good! Katherine, if you’re reading this, it’s like filling the void that ToG left in me when I finished. You gotta read it !!!!! Anyone else who likes SJM, read this asap!! This is so phenomenal. This is a chunk of a book but it is actually broken up into books itself (not sure how many) so that may make it less intimidating to read.

So far, this book is not what I expected it to be, and I absolutely love it! There are a lot of characters to follow, and there is a lot going on, but I’m really excited to continue reading and see what happens. This is satiating my craving for a horror and thriller all at once.

Just finished The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer for the second time after like 15 years and it’s just as good as I remember ! Need to read the 2nd asap. Definitely a favorite high school read

I think 2023 will be my year of nostalgic reads as well as trying new genres/subjects! Happy New Year everyone :)
