I’m injuring my eyes from all the eye rolling.

Possibly the dumbest girl ever, yet the story keeps telling us that she’s so smart. Ummm no, she has some book learning, but she has no strategic abilities, and no tactical abilities, and almost zero relationship management skills.

I’m struggling to slog through this final book in the series. I like my heroines to be capable and intelligent and the main character is just bumbling around.

She gets intelligence that a foreign power intends to declare war on her people, and she doesn’t immediately pass that on?

She has important, relevant knowledge about a destruction and doesn’t tell the people whose mission it is to interpret this???

A youth-hero book where the adults aren’t idiots? Yay!

At last I have the final installment of this trilogy and I don’t want to read it because then the story will be over !

Thus is such a VISUAL book! I have to read every word slowly and picture it before I move on. Nice change of pace for me.

This grabbed me from the first page and I absolutely loved the first half. Then it took a sudden right turn and became tragic, and my mood just can't deal with that emotion right now .

I'm always nervous when I get the happy ending at 65% .... what is going to go wrong ?

Oh my goodness this book! A ten year old girl who has been kept practically locked up trying to explain things she has no words for ... an AI learning to be in a body and describing what the body does as if it's separate from her! I can't put this down .

Oh joy! I've found another author who can write great character based sci-fi ! I'm going to have a great weekend reading this.

Gah, why am I reading this?

This is so beautiful. The voice of the little girl makes me feel like I know her and know her culture.
"That made me feel sunshiny bright. When someone puts sunny words on you like that, the thing to do is pass the sunshine on, so I said ..."

I realize that this is brain candy .. but there are limits. Kidnapping an assassins boyfriend to make her trust you? Not anticipating hat she would kill everyone?

So this young woman has sex for the first time and afterwards her inner voice says "she'd somehow been half blind all her life and could now see everything clearly" . How ridiculous, and given the target audience (girls 13-15), why a dangerously untrue message.

This book is suffering from "read after a great book" syndrome. Poor thing, it's not its fault that I just read Kate Elliott. It's like going to your kid's piano recital after visiting with Beethoven ...your kid is very good and talented but ...

Interesting cultural progression of sexism - usually you see very sexist cultures slowly getting better, but here is the reverse. In the Hundred there was no sexism with women being free as men. It was the imported culture that introduced patriarchal values and enforced it on the populace, as well as decimating other parts of their culture.

I'm told that this is a parody, given that the heroine really is too stupid to live. While the writing is fine, the character is so ridiculous I must just give up.
