This girl named Skye really likes a guy from school and she tells him that he was 'chosen' by her. He is not quite sure what she means by that or why she chose him, but he goes along with it. Skye is emo and the guy she likes is creeped out by it. Right now in the story the guy tells Skye that he doesn't want his parents to know or see her quite yet.

'A' is now telling Rihannon that he wants to meet up and have this 'first date'. He wants to pretend that this is the first time they've met and he wants her to act like Rihannon doesn't know he changes bodies at all. After they are finished 'A' tells Rihannon goodbye for good and that he has to go somewhere far away. Only after he found out that they're more people like him.

There is a chapter where 'A' wakes up to found out from his mother, that a family member has passed away. They have to get ready early in the morning to be there for the funeral. When they get there people around him are sobbing and then he sobs too, not because he knew the person who died, but because he realized that he wouldn't be as lucky as the person in the casket.To have family and friends around him who cared

'A' and Rihannon have grown more of a stronger relationship at this point. This boy, who doesn't mention his name, emails 'A' and tells him he knows what he did and that he isn't the only one who feels they have been possessed by the devil. This boy is talking about how 'A' switched into his body and says that he also knows other of his friends have felt the same way.

The character 'A' has now become really good friends with this girl named Rihannon. He has told her how he changes bodies everyday and she believes him. 'A' wants to be more than friends but Rihannon says she can't do that because she feels it isn't right because of his situation. She also has her boyfriend Justin to think about. Even though 'A' knows he doesn't care for Rihannon as much as he does.

A boy who doesn't really have a name, has been waking up in different a different persons' body every morning and has to 'access' their mind in order to know who people are in that person's life. So far he has been in 5 bodies.

The main character's of the novel is Ellie and Mikey. Mikey is the the one who helps Ellie with the court case and makes sure that Ellie knows what she is doing and how it would affect her brother Tom. They both have a relationship going on that their parents' seem to be okay with. They are both good character's that only want to help their own families and then end up helping each other's without even knowing.

Ellie is taken by the police from her house after she had volunteered to tell the entire truth about what happened at that party at her house at night. Tom was upset and confused that they were taking her but she went and so did her mother. When the two detectives start back at the beginning of what happened that night, she is telling everything out. Now it's up to the judge to see what happens next.

Ellie didn't tell the judge that she hadn't been awake through the whole night during whatever her brother didn't or did do. Mike spilled her secret to his family by accident and now he's trying to get her out of school to tell her that he told his family. He doesn't want Ellie to hate him because he really likes her.

Now Karyn is feeling guilty because she hasn't told anyone in her family about her staying up the whole night and the court trial date is coming up. She lied she had slept through the whole night and didn't hear a thing. She comes home after 10 hours after running out of her house mad at her parents. She lies to her parents about where she was when she was secretly alone with Mikey.

Mikey's sister liked Ellie's brother, Tom, one night after they had slept together, and then the next morning she wakes up and changes her mind and calls what happened 'rape'. So far, Ellie has decided to invite Mikey over then she tells him (after just finding out) that she knew him and and then she ends up telling him she set him up in her bedroom as if Ellie could say the same thing Mikey's sister said to Tom.

Duncan and his friend Jacob are working in the library and this guy comes in looking for a "book", which happens to be his diary. Now that Duncan and Jacob know who the killer is, they follow him to where he lives then another friend of his picks the lock. They see The killer's Grandmother (who is deaf), but she doesn't hear them searching the house

Duncan and his friends are gradually getting closer to finding out who the "serial killer" is. They've found out that he works at the mall but not in a specific store, just around the mall, like a security guard which is their main focus right now.

Duncan goes to the cops and finally tells them about the diary, but of the police officer's didn't believe them. One of the other police officer's said they would look into it. Now Duncan and one of his friends' are both planning to find evidence to make sure the cops don't just ignore the problem.

Duncan has found the most recent story from the diary, which says everything from where and what time this girl is and he has decided to go to that place which is the subway, and he sees the girl and watches for the person that wrote the diary to see if he is there watching her.

The character named Duncan, finds this diary on a subway. When he reads through it he notices that the guy who wrote the diary has done all of these crimes past the past that he has done. Now he is skipping through towards something he has done more recently.
