Don’t know how people can do epic fantasy as an audiobook tbh; I’ve read this book before and I can barely even tell what’s happening.

Crazy to read a book where the message is “you should hate your enemies way more, actually” and have the protagonist’s journey basically being about unlearning empathy for the damned. Those old school Italian Catholics did not mess around.

These books are just so quick and fun to read, I keep trying to be varied and eat my literary vegetables but they call to me like the Willem Dafoe Green Goblin Mask

I hope that when I eventually write a book where my idol escorts me safely through Hell and I describe at length how all of my personal and political enemies are there it will also be considered a classic and read for 700 years
