I'm really enjoying it. I love the characters, the detail and the description. A rich, evocative and entertaining text.

Provides a fascinating analysis of issues that illuminate the relationship between narrator and character, the use of detail, round v flat characters etc. It does help to think deeply about these kinds of craft issues and be aware of, but never controlled by, them as you write.

I didn't enjoy this book when I read it many, many years ago: to many platitudes and banal intimacies. But now on rereading this book when I'm older and after spending more time writing on a daily basis I've grown to like this book a lot more and appreciate its wisdom and practical thoughtfulness.

Loving this book. Such a wild ride.

Enjoying this so much we bought the Indonesian edition.
