I like the premise and creativity of the world the author is creating but her delivery method I find annoying. I guess it is a YA book. Maybe her writing improves in book 2? ... I went and saw the movie because I just wanted to know without wasting time reading all the obnoxious filler like what shoes Clary wears.

Wow! This is difficult for me to read because of the pain and suffering of these children. The introduction doesn't make me think this is going to be a light hearted read. I think I will skip this downhearted book and try the movie instead.
