I'm really struggling with this one. And lately it's just been so grim. Wish amongst the multiple perspectives at least someone wasn't in such dire straits.

I'm really liking the writing style so far

I really hope this isn't another story of a power hungry woman and terrible mother. At least Hatshepsut's reign is portrayed as the success it was. Somehow this is the case even though she presents as petty and insecure. Since it's so early on, I'm hoping things will be elaborated to show her in a better light

As someone who has witnessed a surprise volcano eruption that had horrible consequences, the chapter describing the escape from an eruption here left me with chills.

Things are getting good! I just wish more perspectives were being given as much attention as Ead's.

I know this has just been me complaining about this book, but now every woman he runs into has a thought bubble of "wow, he's so cute!" or "just my type!" 🤦🏽‍♀️

He's added "I'm not racist like this lower class soldiers who want to end my upper class way of life are" to his narrative. I really hope it's just the translation because this writing is just not good.

I'm not really enjoying this. The author doesn't do a great job of making the characters feel fleshed out. Including himself. Though he is sure to make it seem like he's the only one with a good head on his shoulders.

I wish I were enjoying this more. The art is interesting, but the writing is not very good. I'm hoping it's just the translation and I'll adjust to it, but the characters and motivations and conversations are just... Not great. I'll keep plugging along.

Good so far. Definitely feels like it's due younger readers. Early to mid teens, which is honestly kind of refreshing seeing how so much YA seems to lean more towards "adult" than "young"

Nice to be listening to a book again, but I feel like I'm missing so much by multitasking

I don't know what it is about this series, but it absolutely terrifies me sometimes. Not any one thing happening, the world can just be so unsettling.

Finally getting back to this. Made the switch from audiobook to ebook and definitely took me a while to figure out the pronunciations and connect them to what I'd heard when I'd listened to it months ago

I wish I liked coffee so I could relate to these characters more.

I know the joke of this series is that it's just a whole bunch of hot, fae sex, but honestly, I think people just haven't read enough erotica or just romance in general. It's fine in this book, but literally every sex scene is the same. Regardless of who's having it or what kind of emotional tone may have been in the scene preceding the act itself. It's just "time for steamy sex!" Right after a tearful heart to heart

Gosh even on the reread the whole "let's pretend to be sinister/heartless" thing is SO DUMB. Especially when Feyre does it. People saw her before. Why would they think this is her personality all of a sudden just because she's hanging out with the Night Court????

I am bloooowing through this. Loving the reread, though annoyed Goodreads bugs out when you reread a book.

This series needs to decide of their society is a patriarchy or not and of so, to what extent. Feyre is amazed at the idea of women wielding being 2nd and 3rds in command, but doesn't bat an eye at her own human realm being ruled by queens across the sea and Amarantha being a top fae general. Which is it????

This book is actually terrible. My brain is rotting. Send help. Please. Make her stop talking about human slaves. Make her stop summarizing away romance. MAKE HER STOP.


I guess I'll keep reading. I'm almost done.

Still find the Miller and Julie thing weird and gross

I feel like this series is becoming my whole personality and I'm really not upset about it. Interesting going back and listening to this book now that I've read and watched everything. Now that I know it's going to be my obsession.

I love him asking his parents permission to go out and do his superhero thing

Finally got my hands on a physical copy. My page number estimates were very off
