I don’t give up on books often but I couldn’t get through Lily Brooks-Dalton’s “Ruins”. I picked it up in a bookstore because the premise appealed to me but after slogging through over 100 pages I had to bail. The protagonist is a truly unlikeable, self-absorbed character sabotaging her life and the author teased the first Big Reveal so much that it was anti-climactic when it actually arrived. On to better reads!
