Considering the size and how slooooow of a reader I am, this is pretty good for me. I love it. At this rate, though? I'll be caught up with the books in about two years or so. ;-)

Just a dumb sidenote: I think if I were to write an adaptive screenplay, it would be to tell the Tarzan story as these books do. Nothing really silly or cartoonish. I think there could be a very good movie here if it were done correctly! Anyway, back to reading.

Picked this up b/c I was curious: what YA books are out there for boys? I'm definitely hooked with this story; it's dark and creepy and claustrophobic-- I find myself thinking about aspects of it after I've closed the book, which is a good sign. I think more books need to be written for male readers, in general. This is a good place to start if you think the same way I do.

I didn't know how good this book would be! Once I got past the first chapters on the ship, the story's just flying along! I can see Burroughs is going to suck with dialogue, but the rest of the descriptions/ action are pretty impressive, so this should wind up being a fast read once I can devote the time to finishing it. :-)
