I wanted to read this like I did the first book in the series — almost uninterrupted on a few sunny days. And that just wasn’t happening. So I’ve switched to the audiobook in the hopes of making more progress. I’m really enjoying it!

This book makes me cringe. Juniper’s new roommate is a man who tutored her when she was 17 and I can’t get over that. The age gap isn’t inappropriate in their lives now but it feels icky still.

OMG! Possible spoiler alert but there’s some massive pet cruelty at the 70-ish percent mark that’s so bad I almost stopped reading for good. I had to skip many pages. I will continue because I want the pet-hurter dead, but I cannot take dead pets anymore.

Had to hit pause on this one because all the weird stuff in it didn’t mix well with cold medicine, leading to some disturbing dreams. But at the halfway point, it was pretty damn good.
