Don't know if I can finish this one. I love Mrs. Neal's work but this story has no plot, just sex and its gotten boring because they always do the same thing, no variety! Getting tied up gets boring after the 20 or 30th time.

This has been a slow read. 25% through and most of it has been old stuff from other books in the series. Just getting to new information about both Detier and the spoiled little princess, Flicka. I hope the other books in this series are better than this one.

Picked this up because it was supposed to be funny, fast paced, and a good holiday read. So far, no go. Boring and definately not funny.

I couldn't get into this book and put it aside to read others. Will try to finish it later.

I've had to put this one aside for a while, couldn't get into the story.

Finished Toni Anderson's fantastic story!

The writing is great! Still in book 1 but if the rest of the stories are as good as this one it will be an exciting reading adventure.

Put this aside to read our book club selection and haven't gotten back to it. May have to rate it a DNF for now and read it at a later time.

I really enjoyed "A Man Called Ove" and decided to try a second novel by the author. Not having much luck.
1. This is a retelling of "The Big Fish." Instead of being between a man and his father its a grandmother and granddaughter.
2. They keep giving chocolate candies to the dog. A BIG NO NO! So much chocolate it could kill the dog.
The author should know better than to write something like this in his story.

I think I read this book before but didn't finish it. I'm about half way through and had to skip some pages because I already knew what was going to happen. The book isn't listed in my read books on goodreads but it isn't holding my interest because I know what's going to happen next. I'll continue reading though.

Okay, I finished the book!
The premise of the story was good and that's why I continued to read the book. I really hate to give up on a story.
To complete this book the reader will have to put aside almost every bit of knowledge they have on subjects that are covered in the story. There is so much wrong that one just has to skip over it and move on with their reading.
Suffice it to say that I finished the book!

On page 139 and I can't believe how awful the writing is. I borrowed the three books in this series but don't know if I want to waste my time reading the others if they are this bad. This is one of the worst books I've ever read!

I'm thinking this may be a DNF. Its really boring. I keep putting it down to read something else. I've got 18 more days before I have to return it to the library so maybe I'll finish it yet. So happy its a library book.

This story was a bit different from others by Beverly Jenkins. Much more of a western than the other books and very enjoyable.
Ian Vance, a.k.a. "The Preacher", meets Maggie Freeman who at the time of their meeting is a prisoner of the local sheriff. The sheriff asks Ian to take her to the sheriff in the next town for her own protection. She inadvertently killed a man while trying to protect herself from rape.

Sticking with this but Toni Morrison has never been easy reading for me. Put it aside to read our monthly book club choice.

Got so enthralled in "A Treasury of African American Christmas Stories" that I haven't even started this yet!

Feels.. like... walking.... through..... quicksand. I've actually put this down and read three other books since starting Steel Kiss!

Not making much progress with this book. Its not holding my interest. Put it down for another one last night that I finished today.

Put this down for a better book. I may or may not get back to it.

I can only read this book in small doses. When I get to a point that upsets me I have to put it aside for awhile. My oldest child is a doctor and encounters racial prejudice every where. It not only comes from patients but also from fellow staff members. We are a bi-racial family and have all encountered such treatment. However because the story is medically oriented it really hits home for me.
