So far a quick moving story. The characters come across a little tone def, so worried about being single mothers that they can't live in their own, but can still afford a hi housekeeper to come every week.

I was enjoying the well known story told from Mary's point of view,. Then the writing, or editing becomes lazy. "Elizabeth could bear no more and stood up" After two paragraphs where there is no mention of her sitting down "Elizabeth stood up abruptly." I guess the author can think of no other way to show Elizabeth's emotion?

I was liking this one well enough but then it seems the editor stopped working or perhaps AI took over. When one of the characters is named Trey be careful not to confuse him with a tray. I reread the same couple sentences trying to figure out what was happening. Disappointing in a Nora Roberts novel.

I'm more than 50% through and I am so tired of hearing someone "huffed out a laugh". I'm afraid to count how many times she has wrote that.

This one is a bit of a slow read. My loan is up today, so I have put it on hold again.

15%in- super cute beginning, but who describes a 40 year old woman as "older"? The main character is 28 and a career woman from the big city, so the description of the other woman is odd.

70 percent of the way through the book and the author seems to have run out of adjectives. Repeated description of the taste of tea, of someone's appearance and of the settings. If nothing has changed it is not necessary to keep repeating the same information , unless you are being paid by the word.

I had heard good things about this book, but I am disappointed in it. None of the people we have met are likable. The main character is annoying and stupid,I wish I had a better word, but she is unintelligent and makes poor choices and is also unkind. I am going to attempt to finish the hook because my daughter is waiting to watch the movie with me.

I'm as far as "A Most Severe Trial" and the typos are taking me out of the story. I have to go back over what I've just read to translate it to make sense. Simple things like "Charlotte could never quite forgive HIS husband...." . It should be "her husband "

I am hesitant to criticize this hook because I have loved the Aunties series. This one feels rushed and perhaps did not get the editing it deserved. Twice now Meddy has referred to her cousin's children as her nieces and nephews. Maybe a minor thing, but why did no one correct it before publishing?

Shannon is 37% done with McClairen's Isle: The Passionate One (McClairen's Isle, #1)
The writing is confusing, it is difficult to tell who is doing or saying whatever is happening. It takes me out of the story if I have to keep looking back and re-reading a sentence to try to figure it out. I don't mind looking up definitions of words if needed but I do not enjoy convoluted sentence structure .

I love a Grisham law book, love the twists and turns of the law. This one started slow, but I enjoyed the backstory of how the families ended up in Biloxi. I am in chapter 58, and this chapter feels as if it has s from some other book in some other story. It rings untrue to the characters, as if Grisham is being forced to sound impartial or undecided on the issue of the death penalty.

It is definitely a rom com movie rather than a book. The author proposes a montage.

I wanted to like this one, I love a summer beach read. So far, it feels like a book about the book writing process written by movie producers.
