FANTASTICALLY WRITTEN! Also has the feel of a well written fantasy novel rather than historical fiction. I'm hooked.

Stormfather, what an awesome, unbelievably complex and developed story! Can't wait to get my nose into book 2.

Wow... Simply wow. I expected this to be good; of course I did. I just hate myself for waiting so long. I haven't put this down except for work, meals, and some sleep. I simply can't stop thinking about this masterpiece when I am unable to read it, though. You don't even know how happy I am that there are 10 planned installments of this. Wow.

A couple of gripes concerning the imagined way things are set up insofar as how the future world is operating with immortality (some things just don't logically add up as to what would more likely happen). Other than that, it is a really good premise and the characters are very likeable and enjoyable. Book is flowing right along...

This is my first Mark Lawrence book and I'm hooked by his writing style. I was nervous to start it without having read anything from his other series but a quick message with Mark assured me this was separate and to go ahead. The story hasn't taken off fully yet, but the characters are easy to follow and tidbits about Nona's past and her possible link to something far greater are starting to appear. Good stuff here!

Really good so far. Classic Andy Weir: He's a master at blending comical with serious in the same sentence and, as always, you never know what tidbit of real-world science you'll learn. It's a host of mini science lessons ninja'd into a fiction novel, just like we had with The Martian. Love the protagonist, "Jazz," and her personality, attitude, humor, etc. Anxious to finish; things are just starting to thicken...

Story slowed some for a few stretches but the shenanigans are still in full force. I love how witty and quick this bastard (no pun) is. Won't post any spoilers but was a little upset at the loss of some certain characters.

Wow... I can't believe I am just getting around to reading this. No offense to Pat Rothfuss, because I do absolutely love The Kingkiller Chronicle, but had I read Locke Lamora first... I dunno. I do understand the comparisons between the two now, but it's hard to say which I like better. We shall see.

Still going strong. I have to admit, it's better than I expected it might be going into it... There is a love story, of course, but it's not some soppy element of the book like I thought it might be. It's actually much deeper and plays out well rather than being the romance-in-disguise novel I had anticipated.

Certainly interesting so far.... Part history, part folk tale, part blossoming love story, part tragedy. Well written too, I should add, including some creative metaphors, similes, and analogies I'd never have thought of. Also, the "event" that puts our protagonist in the hospital was fabulously descript... So much so I could almost feel what was occurring. Props on that, Mr. Davidson.

Amazing book! A little cliché with the love triangle, but it's done fabulously and the tale overall more than makes up for any gripes one might have. I'm definitely hooked and will be continuing this series right along with the several others I've recently stumbled on that I can barely manage to fit into my life. Thank goodness for audiobooks!

Six hours or so into audiobook; well written and interesting, but coming right off of book 1 and 2 of the Demon Cycle, I am a little anxious for some more depth and action. Still good so far, though.

Wow. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to go past Book 1, but I am so happy I did. This is quickly becoming my new favorite series. Love how Peter V Brett weaves separate timelines and characters in with previous book. I'm hooked for sure.
