Mr Wight has stated something I've always thought about, an over achiever's nightmare: the reward for work well done is more work. I hope you weren't counting on a holiday.
Alas!

How is it possible for one character to ruin the whole world for you?! Opal Cowan, that's how...

43% in book 2 of Glass series and I can finally put into words what my problem is: the story, world, characters, powers, magic... All of that is amazing. Main character? I can see her as a typical entitled American female. "Woe is me. Everyone should just love and trust me, in spite of anything I do or say! It is never my fault and everyone around me sucks"

This is it, the much anticipated and dreaded last 100 pgs of the trilogy. Lu is tugging on My strings... I want to read more, but don't want it to end... such a bitter sweet story, which is why it's great. Sometimes we don't all end up happily ever after... or sometimes for the happily ever after, sacrifices must be made.

I already wish I hadn't started it lol but ugh, anxiety ridden completionist! I hope it redeems itself. It's only saving grace is that it's an Easy read...

"...a worldwide pattern linguists have discovered, according to which women are more proper in their speech in more contexts than men are."
This makes sense, when once considers the roots of oppression. The oppressed are usually oppressed because of their true potential and superiority.

Jess is reading Kindred
"The possibility of meeting a white adult here frightened me, more than the possibility of street violence ever had at home."
Wow! This speaks volumes.
