The book picked up after page 240, but damn, how is this Mark’s thirteenth book? Either he needs to be humbled or he needs a better editor (probably both). The plot is interesting, but the execution leaves much to be desired

A first chapter full of YA fantasy tropes. A second chapter that begs for empathy for characters the author has built no rapport with. This book does not promise.
