I'm loving the book so far, but I think I still prefer Cryptonomicon.

In my reading I chanced upon a passage that was quoted by Montaigne in his Essays in the original Latin: "Sicut aquae tremulum labris ubi lumem ahenis sole repercussum, aut radiantis imagine Lunae omnia pervolitat late loca, iamque sub aurus erigitur, summique ferit laquearia tecti."

This roughly translates to "as unstill water reflects beams of the sun or moon in all directions," describing a state of mind.

Wow, I forgot how mean-spirited Juno is in Greek and Roman mythology.

Occasionally I will see the question "If you could live in the setting of any book that you have read, which one would it be?"

Definitely not this book.

One of the most fascinating books I've read thus far. It covers some concepts I discovered in Stephen Hawking books, but this time I'm actually able to comprehend them.

This is probably one of the only books dealing with physics where I can finish a chapter, look back, and say "I understood that!" Still baffled by a lot of it though.

One of the more bizarre books I've read lately. Author has quite the vocabulary too. Helically? Enantiomorph?

Not sure if I can make it any farther in this book. I'm fairly certain it's just going to be depressing the whole way through now.
