The action has moved to Russia. Not since reading 'Nicolas & Alexandra' has an author taken me there so vividly. Frankly, I'm clicking pages frantically to discover what happens next, whilst wanting to stay in the novel for as long as possible. It is proving addictive & while I hope to finish if not tonight by tomorrow is definately one to re-read whilst waiting for an encore.

Having promised myself I'd read this on holiday, I got cold feet worried about getting sand in my kindle. Boy do I regret that decision.5% into the novel, but already I've relaxed. I'm in the hands of a master story teller. The prologue is extremely dramatic & well written. Into the 1st chapter & I'm already at home with the lead character & intrigued by Mr Bentley Cramer. Good enough to stop me watching the footie!

An captivating start. Two women in two different centuries with potential life changing difficulties. Both characters are very clearly defined and so far the Victorian pov is exactly as one would imagine.
