I just started listening to it, and it reminds me of Heinlein's teen series. A young 17 year old joins the space travel knowing he won't be able to see his family again. Covers theory of relativity well and in search of a warp drive to remove the time dilation issues for space travelers. 3/5/2026 @ 11:40 a.m.

Progress but stalling, I love the main story line. The book reads fast however, doesn't really go anywhere, appears to be no real end in sight. I keep reading to find out what happens.

been on hold (08/23)

On pause. got side tracked.

I am almost to Book 2 and it's starting to get really good. Stephen King does it again. I wouldn't call myself a Stephen King fan but I have enjoyed most of what I have read from him. I guess I'm not a fan because I just don't read that much horror and most of what I have read from King has not been horror but alternate history, and fantasy.

Started and stopped

On hold, was a very laborious read.

I went to Chamblin's Book Mine our local humungous used bookstore in Jax. Fl. and found this book. I have had it on my want to read list for a while and finally found a copy. All other books are hold until I complete it. Simak is one of my favorite authors, one right behind Heinlein.

Placed it on hold, this series is fun entertainment that I call "turn brain off and enjoy", I'll get back to the series soon as I went out and purchased the first 5 in the series.

Not sure where to start, the book is multiple stories organized by books. Slow read for me but the intrigue keeps me wanting to read it. This is my second book by Robinson and in comparison, I find both have that slow progress but a deeper story that keeps me reading.

Getting to where I just don't want to stop reading.

Despite the mixed review I am starting this book today. Lets see if my assumptions about the book hold true, I hope not. Based on the reviews great starter, keeps you interested then the author didn't know how to end it. Sounds like a typical Stephen King novel to me. Great starter, build up, the end : )
