Lori is 10% done with Undertow: A Novel
I usually like Elizabeth Bear’s writing, but I just couldn’t get into this story. After the three chapters I give a book to catch my interest, I was done. The lack of any explanation for the alien terminology, the bland characters with little to no reason to like them, or care what happened to them was enough for me to give up on it.

This is the first book in a series. I’ve read them all, and will probably re-read them. The characters, storyline, settings, and historical details are fascinating!

Lori is finished with Fisherman's Hope (The Seafort Saga Book 4)
This was a difficult book to read. Nick seems fated to save others at the cost of his own soul. He is a difficult man to like, but a man who will make the tough decisions and take the consequences; no matter the cost to himself, or others.
The cost can be higher than he could ever imagine; even in his worst nightmares!
Get out your hanky for this one; you're going to need it!

My IPad is refusing to let me leave a star review. I give it a four. Love the Mrs. Pollifax adventures! I'm now re-reading the whole series of ten books. I think I'm on # 6...or maybe it's #7.

I'm re-reading, "Mystery Woman", by Amanda Quick. I was under-whelmed by the first book in the series, "Crystal Gardens", but it improved dramatically on re-reading. I'm experimenting to see if that's going to be a theme in this series. So far...it seems to be. I tend to "gobble up" her books as soon as I get them in my hot little hands. I don't have the discipline to savor them slowly the first time around.
