If this book was an Am I The Asshole post, it would definitely get an Everyone Sucks Here result.

I considered DNFing this because I have had a few spoilers and am probably not going to like the direction it's going, plus some of the characters are being awful. But now finally something interesting seems to be happening.

I'm really not good at long audio books... Over 6 hours listened to and not even halfway through, and I have a feeling from reading some of the reviews that I'm not going to enjoy the direction this takes...

I get that this book's tag line is "high fantasy, low stakes" but there are like... no stakes. I'm 2/3 of the way through and basically everything has just gone exactly right. I get that can be comforting but I also want something to happen!

Got to admit this has been a bit confusing.

Got to admit that this one pretty much lost me between pacing and a lot of flat characters... looking forward to finishing. (Would have DNFed but I was using for two different readathons!)

The stories in this are by no means bad, and I realise that Trent Dalton was at the mercy of chance with regards to who came up to talk to him, but so far this is all very heteronormative.

Why have they deepened David Tennant's voice? Is it because it's a story about sound being distorted? And because we're supposed to be listening to found footage recording?
