An excellent novel set around the times of the early crusades. Silk Road explores the world away from Europe and the Holy Land and is worth the read just because of that. This will always keep you turning the page to see what happens.

A continuation of the story from the death of Mary I and the accession of Elizabeth I.

I found this book hard going. Don’t know why because the story is well told and detailed but for some reason did not float my boat, which is unusual for Robyn Young.
I will go back and read the remaining books in this series but I need to change and see if I can awaken a love for Robert Bruce
